JEAN DE CASTELBAJAC

A black cross concealed the face of red haired maiden on a full length caftan, enormous fox-head fronted tartan dress and John Everett Millais's drowning Ophelia printed on a miniskirt, Jean de Castelbajac F/W 2013-14 Ready-to-wear collection has got me falling madly in love.

This post started with the three looks from Paris Fashion Week that had me imprinted on the extraordinair of the Jean de Castelbajac F/W 2013-14 collection. In a season so dominated by monochromatic colors, Castelbajac started off his collection with the black and white hound-tooth pattern on a wool suit, followed by a dozen of classic, colorless but captivating stripes and plaids (yes, if anything at all was proven for sure this season, after Jean de Castelbajac and the seemingly "high-school girl" collection from Saint Laurent,  then the "actual" high school girl collection of Moschino, plaid has definitely made its glorious comeback!)

As the collection transits into brighter shades of blue and intense color of red, PFW sees a new twist in Castelbajac's signature blanket dresses: a scarf-like detail on the strap effortlessly tossed over the orange satin gown.

The Pre-Raphaelite paintings on the bed of intense red dazzles through a range a fabrication has truly spoken Castelbajac's desire to parlay poetry into wearable statement. And his work was nothing less than inspiring and impeccable. I mean, what is possibly cooler than getting a fashion shout-out from the National Galleries of Arts on twitter, am I right?
